5 months agoThis is supposed to be a service to the students not a business stop treating it as such the quality of food has gone way down. The quantity of stations open has gone down, and the diversity in what they offer has gone down. You arent supposed to make money off of this place you are supposed to make good food for the students do better

a year agoA lot of the food was better under Aramark in my opinion. Way more variety at certain stations, like pasta and pizza. And I miss the sandwich toasting machine.

2 years agoWe actually visited the Tennis Courts. The courts are nice, but the lights are crazy....they lit up the courts...but I was blinded on most shots 6 ft high and above. I lost my first match in many months....I can't blame it all on the lights, but they took a good # of points away from me... lost 6-7 in a tie breaker after being up 6-5 before we switched again...the side against the pickleball courts won 11 of the 12 games...that should tell you enough.

4 years agoThe good: lots of variety, the hall is clean and spacious, staff is friendly. The bad: expensive for what it is, and some of the food is like the worst quality cafeteria food you've ever had. You'll be able to get some calories in you, but the taste and quality of the food can be greatly improved to make students thrive in their studies.

4 years agoOverall I find Penland to be a solid dining experience. It is a university food hall with lots of options and a very friendly staff.

6 years agoWow! That is all I have to say about this place. We attended an event here with our daughter who is considering going to Baylor. I was completely amazed at the variety of food that was available. There was a line with pizza, a sandwich line, Mexican line, BBQ, Asian, salad bar and a few others. Another cool thing I liked was that they had many different types of infused waters to choose from. I like that there are enough choices that you could try something new for many weeks.

9 years agoBig plates with little food. You have to get 2 or 3 plates just to get full. Wing Wednesday is a joke. They give you 3 wings on a plate. The food is consistently below average on any given day. The Mexican line is the only one that seems to be consistent. It's not as bad as East Village, but it's pretty bad. I wouldn't eat here if I had time to cook. It was much better before the remodel. It may be nicer on the inside, but the food does the place no justice.
